Context

This was a redesign of Humax's companion mobile application — the second-screen experience for users who wanted to continue, control, or discover TV content on their phone. Version 1 treated the mobile app as a remote control. Version 2 needed to treat it as a full content surface in its own right.

Design Focus

The primary challenge was content continuity: a viewer watching on TV should be able to pick up seamlessly on mobile, and vice versa. This shaped the information architecture — content state, history, and discovery all needed to feel coherent whether you were holding a remote or a phone. The second area of focus was navigation: mobile interaction patterns differ significantly from 10-foot UI patterns, and the two needed to coexist in a shared mental model without confusion.
